Petey Wheatstraw: The Devil's Son In Law is Rudy Ray Moore's retelling of
the legend of Petey Wheatstraw, a character so morally bankrupt that he must
cut a deal with the Devil to reclaim his wretched life. On his death bed,
Petey Wheatstraw is approached by the Devil with an offer that only he
could conceive: Petey Wheatstraw can take back his life and resume his
career as a stand up comic, if he will marry the devil's ultra-ugly daughter
(Ebony Wright). Based on an infamous character from black, rural folklore,
Petey Wheatstraw offers Moore the perfect canvas on which to display another
of his unique, rap and martial arts oriented characters. Petey Wheatstraw
reunites Rudy Ray with several of his long time performers Leroy and Skillet,
who appear as Petey Wheatstraw's archrivals on the comedy club circuit.
